Alaska is Calling

                            Ready for a fantastic vacation?

                            Alaska is calling.

Many years ago, my wife Donna told me she wanted to take an Alaskan cruise. My first thought was a cruise is for swimming in clear blue ocean water and sitting by the pool while the waiter brings me a rum drink with an umbrella in it. So, I told her sure, we will go when we are old and gray. Well, the next year her sister went on an Alaskan cruise and had a wonderful time. When we watched the video she took, I found myself sitting there with my mouth open. I could not believe how beautiful the scenery was and thought it must be something to see in person. So, the next year, we went on our 1st Alaskan cruise. When the cruise was over, I would have turned right around and boarded that ship again for the next sailing. Since that time, we have been on 3 Alaskan cruises. Each time we had an incredible and different adventure. With so much to offer, Alaska needs to be on everybody’s bucket list.

Now is the time to start planning your cruise to Alaska. We saw some of the popular voyages and tours sell out early for 2018. If you are serious about going to Alaska in 2018, contact Departures today. We always suggest the best way to see Alaska is with a 7 day cruise and a minimum of a 4 day land tour at the beginning or end of the cruise. Maybe even include a train trip in the land portion. So, call Departures now so we can start looking for the best deals for you. Remember, with the shorter sailing season, the cruise ships tend to get booked early. You won’t want somebody else booking your balcony cabin or suite.
